China-Chinese Taipei 78:65
China beat Chinese Taipei in Tianjin at the East Asian Games. China posted a 58:65 win for 1-0 record. Chinese Taipei meanwhile suffered their first loss and dropped at 1-1 record.
China opened the game with a 17-12 rally and added 18-11 run in the second period. Chinese Taipei bounced back with a 32-26 burst in the third quarter, but could not win the game. China needed a final 17-10 run to seal the victory.
Shi Xiufeng (178-PG-87) stepped up with 12 points for the winners and Huang Hongpin (196-C-89) as well as Cheng Feng (188-F-90) netted 11 each. Li Meng (185-F-95) followed them with 10 points in a win. HUANG PING JEN had a good game with 25 points in a loss. TSAI PEI CHEN notched 11, whilst CHEN YU CHUN and LIN CHI WEN poured in 8 each.

Hong Kong roll over Guam in Day 2 of the East Asian Games. Hong Kong posted a 69:42 win for 1-1 record. Guam meanwhile fell at 0-2 record.
Both teams lost their openers and entered the game winless. Hong Kong started with a 23-17 lead and never looked behind. They added 16-14 surge in the second frame and had 39:21 halftime advantage. Moreover Hong Kong won the third period 18-15 and finished the game with a 12-6 run.
CHEUK TING top-scored for the winners with 20 points and HUANG LAI FONG notched 14. CHU HAU YEE delivered 10, whilst LAM PIK YI had 10. Kathryn Castro ended up with 15 points in the losing effort and Derin Santos scored 10. CHARITY LUJAN notched 5, whilst Brianna Benito and Jocelyn Pardilla (157-G) shot 4 each.
