It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Vermilion Birds's pressure prevailed and they won that period 25-11 extending their advantage to 16 points. Guangdong forced 20 Sichuan turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Aliyah Collier (183-1997, college: Clemson) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and international forward Yang Shuyu (182-2002) who added 13 points and 5 assists during the contest. Four Vermilion Birds players scored in double figures. At the losing side Australian center Elizabeth Cambage (205-1991) responded with 21 points and 7 rebounds and Bahamas-Bosnian center Jonquel Jones (198-1994, college: GWU) scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.

Chennedy Carter, 26-year old American point guard from the Wuhan hengfan, was selected as the Player of the Year at the Chinese Basketball Association. She graduated from the Texas A&M five years ago. Carter received multiple other awards, was honored as the Defensive Player of the Year, Import Player of the Year, Guard of the Year, and was named to the First Team, Imports Team and Defensive Team. With Carter's excellent performance, the Wuhan hengfan achieved the best record of the season in the league, finishing with an impressive 26 to 6 in the regular season. She averaged almost 8 rebounds per game in the league. Carter was the Player of the Week honoree 8 times during the 24 25 campaign. She led the WCBA in points per game with over 31. Carter has totalled 23 games of 20 or more points on the year and recorded 30 or more points in 15 games. She registered double-doubles in 7 games at the event. Carter's 52 points against the Shanxi were the most she scored in the 24 25 season. 9 out of the top 10 highest scorers in the league are alumni of US colleges.

Collier collected multiple other honors, earned a spot in the First Team and Imports Team and Defensive Team. Her excellent performance assisted her team in beating the Sichuan 3 to 1 in the final series. Collier had over 18 points and 7 rebounds per game that season in the league. She has totalled 23 games of 20 or more points on the year and recorded 30 or more points in 3 games. Collier logged double-doubles in 9 games at the event. Her 34 points against the Inner Mongolia Nongxin were the most she scored in the 24 25 season. Among many awards she was selected as the Eurobasket All-Portuguese League Player of the Year as well as the All-Portuguese League Defensive Player of the Year and the All-Portuguese League Import Player of the Year and the All-Portuguese First Team back in 2020.
Myisha Hines-Allen, American forward from the Heilongjiang Dragons Daqing, picked up the Forward of the Year of Chinese Basketball Association. She is ex-Louisville from 2018. Hines-Allen received multiple other awards, was voted to the First Team and Imports Team and Defensive Team. She received Player of the Week award 7 times during the 24 25 campaign. Hines-Allen's masterful distribution skills earned her the second spot in points per game with an impressive average of over 23 and third spot in rebounds per game, delivering an average of almost 13. She has totalled 18 games of 20 or more points on the year and registered 30 or more points in 8 games. Hines-Allen notched double-doubles in 23 games at the event. Her 41 points against Xiamen were the most she scored in the 24 25 season. 9 out of the top 10 highest scorers in the league are alumni of US colleges. Among many awards she played in the final of the WNBA in 2018 and 2024.
Elizabeth Cambage, 33-year old Australian center from the Sichuan Yuanda Meile Basketball Club, was named the Center of the Year at the Chinese Basketball Association. She collected multiple other honors, was selected to the First Team and Imports Team. With Cambage's excellent performance, the Sichuan Yuanda Meile Basketball Club achieved the best record of the season in the league, finishing with an impressive 31 to 1 in the regular season. Cambage's best performance made her team reach the finals but they unfortunately lost against the Guangdong 1 to 3. She was previously voted the Center of the Year three times, and chosen to the First Team four times in the past, Player of the Year and 2024, Import of the Year back in 2016 and Finals MVP last year. Cambage recorded over 18 points and 8 rebounds per game over the season in the league. She has totalled 8 games of 20 or more points and registered double-doubles in 7 games on the year. Cambage's 34 points against the Zhejiang were the most she scored in the 24 25 season.
Emma Cannon, 35-year old American forward from the Henan Phoenix, was named to the First Team of Chinese Basketball Association. She is alumna of the Florida Southern College from 2011. Cannon received multiple other awards, earned a spot in the Imports Team and Defensive Team. She averaged almost 21 points and 10 rebounds per game in the league. Cannon has totalled 11 games of 20 or more points on the year and had 30 or more points in 2 games. She recorded double-doubles in 7 games at the event. Cannon's 31 points against Wuhan were the most she scored in the 24 25 season. 9 out of the top 10 highest scorers in the league are alumni of US colleges. Among many awards she was selected to the Eurobasket All-EuroCup First Team as well as the All-Turkish KBSL Third Team back in 2021. She was also selected to the Eurobasket Israeli All-Imports Team back in 2022.
