Ducks had a 26-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. Taiwanese point guard Ray Chen (182-1993, college: Liberty) scored 26 points to lead the charge for the winners and American point guard Eugene German (183-1997, college: NIU) chipped in 22 points and 6 assists during the contest. American-Qatari Brandon Goodwin (188-1995, college: FGCU) responded with 32 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international guard Hongquan Li (198-2001) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.

Guangsha Lions outrebounded Leopards 45-31 including 16 on the offensive glass. Leopards were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American Barry Brown Jr (190-1996, college: Kansas St.) notched 30 points and 4 assists to lead the effort and the former international center Jinqiu Hu (211-1997) supported him with 17 points and 8 rebounds. Even a double-double of 15 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists by American Alize Johnson (206-1996, college: Missouri St.) did not help to save the game for Leopards. The former international Xining He (195-1997) added 18 points and 5 assists for the guests. Four Leopards players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.
