Flame dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Magic Deer's 24. Flame forced 19 Magic Deer turnovers. The best player for the winners was American forward Shakira Austin (196-1999, college: Ole Miss) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Song Kexin (173-1963) chipped in 17 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. Flame's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Australian center Cayla George (193-1989) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international point guard Wu Tongtong (176-1994) added 15 points and 8 assists respectively for the hosts.

American forward Natasha Howard (188-1991, college: FSU, agency: LBM Management) contributed with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Australian forward Alexandra Fowler (180-2001, college: Portland) replied with 18 points and 6 rebounds and the former international guard Weina Jin (181-1992) added 13 points and 8 assists in the effort for Jiangsu. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
