Xinjiang tabs Zitina Aokuso, ex Canberra

Zitina Aokuso

Xinjiang Magic Deer (WCBA) signed 27-year-old Australian international Zitina Aokuso, a 193cm power forward. She began the season with Canberra Capitals in the Australian WNBL, where she averaged 13.2ppg, 7.4rpg, 3.5apg, and 1.0spg in 17 games. Last summer, she played for Tigers (NBL One) in Australia, appearing in 11 games with impressive averages of 23.9ppg, 13.0rpg, 7.5apg, 2.1spg, and 1.1bpg. Aokuso was named League Player of the Week twice and selected to the Australiabasket.com All-Australian NBL1 West First Team.
Aokuso has been a member of the Australian international program for several years. She has played for the Australian senior team since 2021 and previously for the Under 19 National Team in 2017.
She also represented Australia at the FIBA Asia Cup for Women in Aokusonzhen (China) last year. Aokuso's team won Gold and she averaged 8 points per game.
She has played also in Turkey (Ormanspor), Australia (Townsville Fire, Ballarat Miners, Thunder, United and BA Centre of Excellence) and Turkey.
Among many awards, her team made it to the NBL1 South Semifinals in 2024. Aokuso was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Turkish KBSL All-Domestic Players Team in 2025.
