Shanxi signs Shakira Austin

Shanxi Flame (WCBA) signed 26-year old USA ex-international forward Shakira Austin (196cm-1999, college: Ole Miss). She has played for the last two seasons at Washington Mystics (WNBA). In 38 games she had 12.7ppg, 6.4rpg, 1.8apg, 1.1spg and 1.1bpg last season.
In 2022 she was drafted by Washington Mystics (WNBA) as #3 pick overall.
The former University of Mississippi star is in her fourth season in pro basketball.
She has played also professionally in Israel (Elitzur Ramla).
Among many awards she won Israeli League championship title in 2023. Austin was voted Eurobasket.com All-Israeli League Player of the Year and Eurobasket.com All-Israeli League Import Player of the Year back in 2023. She played also for University of Maryland for 2 years.
