American Center Hassan Whiteside (213-C-1989) put on an amazing game in the last round for second-ranked Shanghai Sharks, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 27.
The 36-year old player had a double-double of 28 points and 13 rebounds, while his team beat Guangdong ST (#3, 17-6) 94-84. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Sharks maintains the 2nd position in Chinese CBA. They are still close to the very top. Shanghai would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 19-4 record. In the team's last game Whiteside had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range. It was one of impressive evenings for him as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Former Marshall University star has very solid stats this year. Whiteside is in league's top in rebounds (9th best: 8.0rpg) and averages impressive 1.4bpg and 67.4% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Jaylen Hands (191-G-1999, agency: Octagon Europe) of Nanjing Monkey Kings. Hands had a very good evening with 43 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists. It was enough for Monkey Kings to edge the higher-ranked Shenzhen L. (#5, 14-9) 126-123. Despite this victory Nanjing slide down in the standings to 18th position. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 7-15 record. Hands is a newcomer at Nanjing, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Terquavion Smith (193-G-2002) of Shenzhen Leopards (#5). Smith got into 30-points club by scoring 44 points in the last round. He went also for ten assists. Despite Smith's great performance the Leopards lost 123-126 to the lower-ranked Nanjing MK (#18, 7-15). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Shenzhen L. needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 14 victories and 9 lost games. Smith has a great season in China. After 23 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 23.1ppg (3rd best).
