Khaalia Hillsman claims Chinese WCBA Hoops Agents weekly honour

American-Bulgarian Khaalia Hillsman (196-C-1996) had a very impressive game in the last round for Sichuan Yuanda Meile Basketball Club and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 20.
The 29-year old center had a double-double of 29 points and 11 rebounds, while her team crushed Shanghai (#5, 13-8) with 23-point margin 105-82. Yuanda maintains the 3rd position in their group in the Chinese WCBA. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Sichuan will need more victories to improve their 15-5 record. In the team's last game Hillsman had a remarkable 91.7% from 2-point range. She turned to be Yuanda's top player in her first season with the team. Khaalia Hillsman averages this season 17.2ppg and 8.4rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American forward Beatrice Mompremier (193-F-1996) of Xinjiang Magic Deer. Mompremier impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 23 points and 12 rebounds. It was enough for Magic Deer to edge the lower-ranked Shaanxi (#12, 2-19) by 2 points 87-85. This victory allowed Xinjiang to move up to 6th position in Group A. Her team lost some distance to top teams. But a 12-8 record is not bad and everything may still change. Mompremier is a newcomer at Xinjiang and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Ruthy Hebard (192-F-1998) of Shanghai Baoshan Dahua Swordfish (#5). Hebard scored 23 points and grabbed 20 rebounds (!!!). She was a key player of Swordfish, leading her team to a 93-70 easy win against the lower-ranked Wuhan (#8, 9-11). Shanghai needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams in Group A. Their record at this point is 13 victories and 8 lost games. Hebard has a great season in China. After 21 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.0ppg (8th best) and rebounds with 12.8rpg (2nd best). She also has 2.3spg, 1.2bpg and a FGP of 66.8%.
