The game between third ranked Jiangxi (10-5) and eighth ranked Jiangsu (7-7) was the most important one in the last round on Wednesday night. Jiangxi was defeated by Jiangsu in Jiangxi 100-89. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Jiangxi. Jiangsu looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Jiangxi's players. It was a great evening for American center Robert Upshaw (213-1994, college: Washington) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import point guard Quade Green (183-1998, college: Washington) helped adding 30 points and 4 assists (perfect behind the arc making all five shots). The best for the losing side was American guard Niven Glover (196-2000) with 53 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Jiangsu moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Hubei. Jiangxi at the other side keeps the third position with five games lost. They share it with Hunan. Jiangsu is looking forward to face league's leader HK JinNiu in Hong Kong in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Jiangxi will have a break next round.
NBL top team - HK JinNiu (13-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed twelfth ranked Guizhou (4-10) in Hong Kong 86-55. It was a quality performance for Nigerian-American swingman EJ Anosike (199-1998, college: CS Fullerton) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. ZhanWang Diao accounted for 15 points. HK JinNiu's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Shusen Lin (188-2001) came up with 12 points and 4 assists for Guizhou in the defeat. Undefeated HK JinNiu have an impressive series of thirteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with 13-0 record. Guizhou at the other side keeps the twelfth position with ten games lost. They share it with Hangzhou. Shandong moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Anhui W. Zhangjiakou lost their fourteenth game in a row. They still close the standings with 14 games lost.
