D.J. Wilson claims Chinese CBA Hoops Agents weekly honour

American D.J. Wilson (208-F-1996) put on an amazing game in the last round for Jilin Northeast Tigers and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 22.
The 29-year old forward had a double-double of 25 points and 14 rebounds, while his team edged out Tianjin P. (#17, 6-14) 96-93. The game was not the highest importance and did not have significant influence on top of the standings. Thanks to this victory Jilin Tigers moved-up to the 15th position in Chinese CBA. Jilin NE T. is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 8-12 record. In the team's last game Wilson had a remarkable four three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He turned to be Jilin Tigers's top player in his first season with the team. University of Michigan graduate has very impressive stats this year. Wilson is in league's top in rebounds (3rd best: 9.9rpg) and averages solid 1.6bpg,52.2% FGP and 44.9% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American power forward Marquese Chriss (206-PF-1997) of Shandong Heroes. Chriss impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 23 points and 11 rebounds. It was enough for Heroes to edge the higher-ranked Guangsha L. (#1, 16-3) by 6 points 93-87. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Shandong H. consolidated its place in top 4 of the standings. His team's 13-5 record is not bad at all. Chriss is well-known by Shandong H. fans and he already established his position as one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was American Scottie James Jr. (202-F-1996, agency: Pensack Sports) of Tianjin Pioneers (#17). James Jr. showcased his all-around game by recording 27 points, 15 rebounds (!!!) and 5 assists in the last round. Despite James Jr.'s great performance the Pioneers lost 93-96 to slightly higher-ranked Jilin NE T. (#15, 8-12). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Tianjin P. not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 14 games, recording just six victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, James Jr. could try to bring Tianjin P.'s a little bit higher in the standings. James Jr. has individually a great season in China. After 20 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 10.3rpg (#1 in league). He also has a FGP of 55.7% and 3PT: 42.5%.
