Chinese WCBA round 19 best performance: Chennedy Carter (by Hoops Agents)

American Point guard Chennedy Carter (175-PG-1998) had a great game in the last round for Shanghai Baoshan Dahua Swordfish, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 19.
The 27-year old player was the main contributor (44 points, two rebounds and nine assists) to her team's victory, helping them to edge out Shandong (#4, 12-7) 93-91. Swordfish maintains the 6th position in their group in the Chinese WCBA. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Shanghai will need more victories to improve their 11-7 record. In the team's last game Carter had a remarkable six three-pointers out of 11 attempts. She turned to be Swordfish's top player in her first season with the team. Former Texas A&M University star has very solid stats this year. Carter is league's best scorer averaging so far 33.1ppg. Carter is in league's top in assists (8th best: 4.9apg) and averages impressive 2.6spg and 53.8% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was another Shanghai's star - young American Ruthy Hebard (192-F-1998). Hebard had a very good evening with a double-double of 27 points and 15 rebounds. It was enough for Shanghai Baoshan Dahua Swordfish to edge slightly higher-ranked Shandong (#4, 12-7) 93-91. Swordfish's 6th position in Group A has not changed. Her team lost some distance to top teams. But a 11-7 record is not bad and everything may still change. Hebard is a newcomer at Swordfish, but is already one of team's top players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.7ppg (#8). She also registered 12.5 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was Canadian center Phillipina Kyei (203-C-2003) of league's top team Hefei. Kyei scored 25 points and grabbed 15 rebounds (!!!). She was a key player of Hefei, leading her team to a 97-79 easy win against #3 ranked Liaoning in a game of the week. Hefei confirms their top position in Group B. Kyei has a great season in China. After 18 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 8.8rpg (9th best).

9. Khaalia Hillsman (196-C-1996) of Sichuan - 21 points and 13 rebounds
10. Cheyenne Parker-Tyus (193-F-1992) of Shandong - 23 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists
