Xinjiang Magic Deer (WCBA) signed 28-year-old Australian 185cm small forward Taylah Simmons (college: Southeastern). She last played at S. Hoiho in New Zealand Tauihi Basketball Aoteroa, where she averaged 13.3ppg, 4.5rpg, 3.1apg, and 1.0spg in 13 games last season, helping them reach the semifinals. Simmons also competed for Brisbane Spartans (NBL One North) in the Australian league.
Simmons has quite traveled the world during her pro career, playing between four different countries on three different continents. She has played professionally in Australia, Germany, New Zealand, and Slovenia.
Among many awards, she won the Slovenian League championship title in 2023. Simmons was voted to the Eurobasket.com Slovenian League All-Defensive Team back in 2023.
Simmons graduated from Southeastern University in 2020 and this will be her sixth season in pro basketball. She also played for Wagner College for 2 years.
