The most important game in the last round took place in Dongguan between third ranked Guandong Tigers (12-4) and fourteenth ranked Royal Fighters (7-9) on Saturday night. Guandong Tigers were edged by Royal Fighters in a tough game at home 98-99. Beijing made 31-of-39 free shots (79.5 percent) during the game. 27 personal fouls committed by Guangdong ST helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was international guard Sanning Liao (189-2001) who scored 25 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. American forward Reggie Perry (208-2000, college: MSU) chipped in 20 points and 14 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Trevelin Queen (197-1997, college: NM State) who recorded 27 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Beijing moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Jilin NE T. Guangdong ST at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. They share it with Qingdao E.. Beijing is looking forward to face higher ranked Guangzhou (#12) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Guangdong ST will play against Sichuan (#20) and is hoping to win this game.
Leader Guangsha Lions delivered the fourteenth victory. This time they crushed 12th ranked Loong Lions (7-8) 109-82 in Hangzhou. It was a good game for American Barry Brown Jr (190-1996, college: Kansas St.) who led his team to a victory with 24 points and 4 assists. Jinqiu Hu contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Canadian guard Lindell Wigginton (185-1998, college: Iowa St.) replied with 16 points and 5 assists for Guangzhou. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Guangsha Lions (14-2) have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position. Guangzhou lost third consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with eight games lost. Guangsha L. will play against Qingdao E. (#4) at home in the next round. Guangzhou will play against Beijing (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Bottom-ranked Blue Whales (0-16) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 103-79 loss to thirteenth ranked Jilin Tigers (7-9) in Sichuan on Saturday evening. DJ Wilson had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners. The best for the losing side was Ruiqi Duan with 23 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Jilin NE T. maintains thirteenth position with 7-9 record, which they share with Beijing. Loser Blue Whales still closes the standings. Jilin NE T. will meet at home higher ranked Shandong H. (#6) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Sichuan will play against Guangdong ST (#3) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.

Rest of the games of round 18 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Shanxi L. defeated Beijing D. in Taiyuan 90-84. Liaoning beat Xinjiang at home 82-75. Shenzhen L. was destroyed by Nanjing on the opponent's court 115-86. Jiangsu D. managed to outperform Shandong H. in a home game 106-101. Zhejiang GB. recorded a loss to Qingdao E. on the road 87-76.



Beijing D. - Shanxi L. 84-90

There was an upset in Beijing where higher ranked Ducks (11-5) were defeated by tenth ranked Loongs (9-7) 90-84 on Friday. Guinean-American Hamidou Diallo (198-1998, college: Kentucky) scored 17 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Jaylen Nowell (193-1999, college: Washington) chipped in 20 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was American point guard Eugene German (183-1997, college: NIU) with 29 points and the former international Xiaochuan Di (205-1993) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Shanxi L. moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Zhejiang GB. and Shenzhen L. Loser Ducks dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. Shanxi L. will meet at home Fujian S. (#17) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Beijing D. will play against Ningbo R. (#11) and hope to secure a win.

Despite that victory Liaoning went down to tenth position due to points difference, which they share with Ningbo R. Xinjiang lost third consecutive game.
