Chinese CBA round 17 best performance: Javion Hamlet (by Hoops Agents)

American Guard Javion Hamlet (193-G-1998) put on an amazing game in the last round for Tianjin Pioneers, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 17.
The 27-year old player was the main contributor (33 points, nine rebounds and six assists) to his team's victory, helping them to outclass Fujian S. (#17, 5-10) with 30-point margin 106-76. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Pioneers maintains the 18th position in Chinese CBA. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 11 games and recorded just four victories. In the team's last game Hamlet had a remarkable 77.8% from 2-point range. He turned to be Pioneers's top player in his first season with the team. Former University of North Texas star has very solid stats this year. Hamlet is in league's top in points (4th best: 22.8ppg) and averages impressive 57.9% FGP and 41.8% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Grant Riller (189-SG-1997) of Beijing Royal Fighters. Riller had a very good evening with 40 points and 2 rebounds. Bad luck as Royal Fighters lost that game 100-105 to the lower-ranked Jiangsu D. (#19, 2-13). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Beijing keeps 14th position. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 6-9 record. Riller is one of the most experienced players at Beijing and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 24.3ppg (#1).

Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Zavier Simpson (183-PG-1997) of Ningbo Rockets (#8). Simpson got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. He went also for seven rebounds and ten assists. Despite Simpson's great performance the Rockets lost 82-109 to the higher-ranked Shandong H. (#5, 10-4). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Ningbo R. needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 8 victories and 7 lost games. Simpson has a great season in China. After 15 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 6.9apg (4th best).
