Anete Steinberga (ex Schio) agreed terms with Henan

Henan Phoenix (WCBA) strengthened their roster with the addition of experienced 35-year-old Latvian international 191cm center Anete Steinberga (college: UTEP). She started the season at Beretta Famila Schio in Italian Serie A1. In four games, she recorded 5.3ppg and 3.0rpg. Her team won the Supercup. She also played 5 games in Euroleague where she averaged 10.4ppg, 2.2rpg, and 1.2spg. Last season, she played at KGHM BC Polkowice (OBLK) in the Polish league.
Steinberga has been a member of the Latvian international program for some years. She has regularly played for the Latvian senior team since 2010 and previously for the Under 20 National Team in 2010.
Steinberga is a very experienced player. She has played professionally in Belgium (Royal Braine and Walloon 3 Team), France (Bourges), Poland, Russia (Chevakata), Turkey (Galatasaray), and Czech Republic (USK Praha).
Among many awards, she was voted to Eurobasket.com All-FIBA Women's Eurobasket Honorable Mention back in 2023. It may be one of the last seasons in her extensive career, which she may end at Henan.
Steinberga graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso in 2013 and it's her 13th (hopefully lucky) season in pro basketball.
