Gao's double-double lands him Player of the Week award

29-year old point guard Shiyan Gao (186-PG-1996) put on an amazing game in the last round for Shandong Heroes and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 12.
He got a double-double of 25 points and 11 assists, while his team beat Nanjing MK (#15, 4-7) 107-94. Heroes is placed at 7th position in Chinese league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Shandong H. will need more victories to improve their 6-4 record. In the team's last game Gao had a remarkable 72.7% from 2-point range. It's his second year at Heroes and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Shiyan Gao averages this season 7.5ppg and 5.5apg.

Second best performed player last round was Travis Trice II (183-PG-1993) of Fujian Sturgeons. He is American guard in his first season at Fujian S.. In the last game Trice II recorded an impressive double-double of 41 points and 12 assists. Bad luck as Sturgeons was edged by the higher-ranked Xinjiang FT (4-7) 111-108. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Fujian S. dropped in the standings to 17th position. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 4-7 record. Trice II is a newcomer at Fujian S. and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Terquavion Smith (193-G-2002) of Shenzhen Leopards (#11). Smith got into 30-points club by scoring exactly 30 points in the last round. He went also for six rebounds and six assists. He was a key player of Leopards, leading his team to a 92-83 win against the higher-ranked Qingdao E. (#5, 8-3). Shenzhen L. needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 6 victories and 5 lost games. Smith has a very solid season. In 11 games in China he scored 16.3ppg. He also has 4.4rpg and 4.3apg.
