American Shatori Walker-Kimbrough (175-PG-1996) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Henan Phoenix and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 29-year old playmaker had the game-high 29 points adding two rebounds and six assists for Henan in her team's victory, helping them to outclass Fujian Z. (#5, 2-6) with 47-point margin 117-70. Henan Phoenix maintains the 3rd position in their group in the Chinese WCBA. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Henan will need more victories to improve their 5-3 record. In the team's last game Walker-Kimbrough had a remarkable 77.8% from 2-point range. She turned to be Henan Phoenix's top player in her first season with the team. Shatori Walker-Kimbrough averages this season 14.6ppg and 5.1rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American point guard Chennedy Carter (175-PG-1998) of Shanghai Baoshan Dahua Swordfish. Carter impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 43 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as Swordfish was edged by the higher-ranked Shandong (#4, 6-3) 100-97. Despite lost game Shanghai moved up to 7th position in Group A. Her team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 4-5 record. Carter is a newcomer at Shanghai and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 30.9ppg (#1). Her other stats are also decent: 6.0rpg and 4.9apg.

The third best performed player last round was American Maya Caldwell (180-G-1998) of Shandong Sports Lottery (#4). Caldwell showcased her all-around game by recording 28 points, 16 rebounds (!!!) and 11 assists (!!!) in the last round. She was a key player of Sports Lottery, leading her team to a 100-97 win against the lower-ranked Shanghai (#7, 4-5). Shandong needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams in Group A. Their record at this point is 6 victories and 3 lost games. Caldwell has a very solid season. In 8 games in China she scored 12.9ppg. She also has 6.8rpg and 3.1apg.
