Shuyu Yang claims Chinese WCBA Hoops Agents weekly honour

International Forward Shuyu Yang (182-F-2002) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's leader Guangdong Vermilion Birds and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2.
The 23-year old forward had the game-high 38 points adding two rebounds and seven assists for Guangdong in her team's victory, helping them to beat Shanghai (#6, 1-2) 101-95. It allowed Vermilion Birds to consolidate first place in the Chinese WCBA. The season is still on an early stage, but Guangdong already had a very good start winning all 3 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Yang had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range. She has many years of experience at Vermilion Birds, through which she has constantly improved. Yang has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (6th best: 19.7ppg), assists (3rd best: 7.7apg) and averages solid 62.5% FGP and 53.8% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American point guard Chennedy Carter (175-PG-1998) of Shanghai Baoshan Dahua Swordfish. Carter impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 47 points and 11 assists. Bad luck as Swordfish lost that game 95-101 to Guangdong (3-0). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Carter is a newcomer at Shanghai and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 29.7ppg (#1). Her other stats are also decent: 4.3rpg and 5.7apg.

The third best performed player last round was Wang Jiaqi (173-PG-1999) of Wuhan Shengfan (#3). Jiaqi showcased her all-around game by recording 29 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists in the last round. She was a key player of hengfan, leading her team to a 88-75 easy win against Beijing (#8, 1-2). Wuhan started extremely well this year. They recorded 3 victories without losing a single game in Group A. Jiaqi turns to be one of the very best players in the league while she is also a leader of the top team having her eyes on the championship title. Jiaqi has a great season in China. After only 3 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 10.0apg (best passer).
