Chinese WCBA round 1 best performance: Ruthy Hebard (by Hoops Agents)

American Forward Ruthy Hebard (192-F-1998) had an amazing evening in the last round for Shanghai Baoshan Dahua Swordfish, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 1.
The 27-year old player had a double-double of 25 points and 18 rebounds, while her team outclassed, the league's bottom-ranked team Zhejiang (#12, 0-1) with 30-point margin 101-71. Swordfish is placed at 3rd position in Chinese WCBA. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Shanghai won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. Hebard turned to be Swordfish's top player in her first season with the team. Former University of Oregon star has very solid stats this year. Hebard is in league's top in points (4th best: 25.0ppg), rebounds (3rd best: 18.0rpg) and averages impressive 75.0% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Imani McGee-Stafford (201-C-1994) of league's second-best Henan Phoenix. McGee-Stafford had a very good evening with a double-double of 26 points and 18 rebounds. Of course she led Henan Phoenix to another comfortable win outscoring Ganzhou (0-1) 111-64. Her team has extremely good start of the season. They won their first game. However the season is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. McGee-Stafford is a newcomer at Henan, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American center Khaalia Hillsman (196-C-1996) of Sichuan Yuanda Meile Basketball Club (#4). Hillsman scored 27 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. She was a key player of Yuanda, leading her team to a 112-65 easy win against Shaanxi (#9, 0-1). Sichuan has a very good start of the season. But there was just one game played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Hillsman also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. The season just started for Hillsman as she played only first game. But it already looks like she can be team's leader.

7. Ruoyun Zhai (182-F-1971) of Shanxi - 29 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Ana Pocek (190-C-1993) of Xiamen - 23 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Shatori Walker-Kimbrough (175-PG-1996) of Henan - 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists
10. Tiffany Mitchell (175-PG-1994) of Beijing - 23 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
