American Guard Marcus Lewis (196-G-1992) had a great game in the last round for Hebei Xianglan, receiving a Hoops Agents NBL Player of the Week award for round 14.
The 33-year old player was the main contributor (36 points, seven rebounds and two assists) to his team's victory, helping them to edge out Hefei (10-7) 93-90. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Hebei maintains the 3rd position in Chinese NBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Hebei will need more victories to improve their 10-7 record. In the team's last game Lewis had a remarkable five three-pointers out of 10 attempts. He turned to be Hebei's top player in his first season with the team. Marcus Lewis averages this season 15.8ppg.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Gerry Blakes (193-SG-1993) of Hefei Kuangfeng. Blakes had a very good evening with 38 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Bad luck as Hefei was edged by slightly higher-ranked Hebei (10-7) 93-90. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Hefei still maintains its place in the top 4 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team's 10-7 record is not bad at all. Blakes is a newcomer at Hefei, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 24.9ppg (#3). His other stats are also decent: 6.3rpg and 5.1apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was American center Robert Upshaw (213-C-1994) of Jiangxi Ganchi (#7). Upshaw scored 26 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Despite Upshaw's great performance the Jiangxi lost 84-94 to the higher-ranked HK JinNiu (#1, 16-1). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Jiangxi not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 11 games, recording just six victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Upshaw could try to bring Jiangxi's a little bit higher in the standings. Upshaw has individually a great season in China. After 17 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.5ppg (9th best) and rebounds with 9.6rpg (3rd best).
