China upset USA to clinch the title in Essen

China are 2025 World University Games champions. They beat USA in the title game in Essen tonight. Chen Yujie (178-F-2000) stepped up with 19 points to pace the champions.
USA jumped to a 24-21 lead after ten minutes. China erased the deficit in the second period to tie things up at 42. China went on a strong 28-16 run in the third term to gain a decisive advantage. They held USA to just 11 points in the fourth period and captured the trophy. Ziting Tang (190-G-2000) delivered 16 points for China. DeYona Gaston (188-F-2000, college: Auburn) responded with 21 points for USA. Sidney Love (173-G-2003) had 15 points in the loss.
