Guangdong upset Sichuan on the road to take 2-0 lead in the championship series. Vermilion Birds looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. International forward Yang Shuyu (182-2002) scored 23 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Aliyah Collier (183-1997, college: Clemson) chipped in 18 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals during the contest. Five Vermilion Birds players scored in double figures. Vermilion Birds' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bahamas-Bosnian center Jonquel Jones (198-1994, college: GWU) responded with 31 points and 9 rebounds (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field) and Australian center Elizabeth Cambage (205-1991) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds.
