Kalani Brown claims Chinese WCBA Hoops Agents weekly honour

American Kalani Brown (201-C-1997, agency: LBM Management) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's leader Inner Mongolia Nongxin and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 36.
The 27-year old center had a double-double of 31 points and 15 rebounds, while her team beat Guangdong (23-9) 86-79. It allowed Mongolia to jump to the first place in the Chinese WCBA. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Inner M. has a very solid 23-9 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. Brown turned to be Mongolia's top player in her first season with the team. Baylor University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Brown is in league's top in points (4th best: 21.3ppg), rebounds (9th best: 9.5rpg) and averages solid 69.0% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American forward N'Dea Jones (188-F-1999) of Xinjiang Magic Deer. Jones impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 29 points and 17 rebounds. It was enough for Magic Deer to edge slightly higher-ranked Zhejiang (#3, 15-17) by 5 points 89-84. Xinjiang's 5th position in Group A1 has not changed. 25 lost games are too many comparing to just seven victories Magic Deer managed to get this year. Jones is a newcomer at Xinjiang and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Trinity Baptiste (183-F-1998) of Hebei Win Power (#6). Baptiste got into 30-points club by scoring 38 points in the last round. She went also for eight rebounds . Despite Baptiste's great performance the Power lost 81-92 to slightly higher-ranked Shanghai (#4, 20-12). But her team cannot count on just a single shooter as she also needs help of the other teammates. Hebei can only dream about fighting for top spots in Group A2. They have rather bad season and 4-28 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Baptiste has a very solid season. In 32 games in China she scored 14.8ppg. She also has 6.3rpg and a FGP of 54.8%.

5. Michaela Onyenwere (183-F-1999) of Jiangsu - 30 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Elizabeth Cambage (205-C-1991) of Sichuan - 29 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists
7. Arella Guirantes (181-SG-1997) of Shanghai - 25 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists
8. Song Gao (190-F-1992) of Sichuan - 19 points and 10 rebounds
9. Huang Sijing (192-PF-1996) of Guangdong - 22 points and 10 rebounds
10. Aishah Sutherland (188-F-1990) of Zhejiang - 20 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists
