The most important game in the last round took place in Hohhot between third ranked Swordfish (18-10) and fourth ranked Mongolia (19-9) on Friday night. Swordfish was defeated by Mongolia on the road 83-70. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Kalani Brown (201-1997, college: Baylor, agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds and the former international forward Lili Wang (183-1992) who added 21 points and 4 assists during the contest. Brazilian center Kamilla Cardoso (201-2001, college: S.Carolina) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds. Mongolia have a solid three-game winning streak. Inner M. moved-up to third place. Shanghai at the other side dropped to the fourth position with ten games lost. Inner M. are looking forward to face Beijing (#5) on the road in the next round. Shanghai will play against the league's leader Shanxi in Taiyuan and is hoping to win this game.
The game between Top Four teams took place in Penglai. Second ranked host Sports Lottery (15-13) defeated 4th ranked Jiangsu (10-18) 94-76. The winners were led by Australian forward Alanna Smith (193-1996, college: Stanford) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds and Wei Cao supported her with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Even 21 points and 5 assists by center Xu Chenyan (200-1999) did not help to save the game for Jiangsu. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sports Lottery have a solid four-game winning streak. Shandong maintains second position with 15-13 record having eight points less than leader Wuhan. Jiangsu lost seventh consecutive game. WCBA top team - hengfan (26-4) had no problems winning another game on Thursday. This time they crushed eighth ranked Ganzhou (7-22) in Wuhan 77-47. The best player for the winners was Khulan Onolbaatar who had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds. Sidney Cooks produced 18 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. hengfan have an impressive 13-game winning streak. Wuhan maintains first position with 26-4 record. Ganzhou lost tenth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eighth place with 22 games lost. Wuhan will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ganzhou will play against the league's second-placed Henan (#2) and hope to secure a win.
There were no shocking results in the other games in round 32: winless Tianjin lost to Heilongjiang on the opponent's court 71-87. Shaanxi managed to outperform Hefei in a home game 80-66. Henan rolled over Xiamen on the road 94-61. Fujian was crushed by Zhejiang on its own court 55-96. Shanxi beat Hebei in Taiyuan 82-67.
