Michaela Onyenwere signs at Jiangsu

Michaela Onyenwere

Jiangsu Yonglian Nanjing (WCBA) landed 25-year old USA-Nigerian ex-international 183cm forward Michaela Onyenwere (college: UCLA). She played most recently at Chicago Sky (WNBA). In 34 games she averaged 6.6ppg and 1.8rpg last season. The last season she played at OGM Orman Genclik Ankara in Turkish league.
In 2021 she was drafted by New York Liberty (WNBA) in first round (6th overall).
She graduated from University of California at Los Angeles and it is her fourth season in pro basketball.
Onyenwere also represented USA at the Panamerican Games in Lima (Peru) six years ago. Her team won Silver but her stats at that event were not that impressive as she did not score anything.
She has played also professionally in Spain (Avenida and Girona), Turkey (Besiktas) and WNBA (Phoenix Mercury).
Among many awards she played in the final of Wooden Award in 2021. Onyenwere was also Pac-12 All-Tournament Team and WNBA Rookie of the Year award back in 2021.
