Kamilla Cardoso claims Chinese WCBA weekly honour

Brazilian Kamilla Cardoso (201-C-2001) put on an amazing game in the last round for Shanghai Baoshan Dahua Swordfish and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 27.
The 23-year old center had a double-double of 40 points and 17 rebounds, while her team beat Zhejiang (#2, 13-11) 113-107. Swordfish maintains the 3rd position in their group in the Chinese WCBA. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Shanghai will need more victories to improve their 16-8 record. Cardoso turned to be Swordfish's top player in her first season with the team. University of South Carolina graduate has very impressive stats this year. Cardoso is in league's top in points (5th best: 21.5ppg), rebounds (6th best: 10.5rpg) and averages solid 64.7% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American point guard Aari McDonald (168-PG-1998) of Beijing Great Wall. McDonald impressed basketball fans with 30 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Of course she led Beijing Great Wall to another comfortable win 87-70 over slightly lower-ranked Hebei (#6, 3-21) being unquestionably team leader. Beijing's 5th position in Group A2 has not changed. Her team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 11-13 record. McDonald is a newcomer at Beijing and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Kalani Brown (201-C-1997, agency: LBM Management) of Inner Mongolia Nongxin (#4). Brown got into 30-points club by scoring 33 points in the last round. She went also for twelve rebounds . She was a key player of Mongolia, leading her team to a 72-69 win against #3 ranked Shandong in a game of the week. Inner M. needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams in Group A2. Their record at this point is 16 victories and 8 lost games. Brown has a great season in China. After 21 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.0ppg (8th best).

10. Breanna Richardson (185-F-1995) of Liaoning - 23 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
