Fujian Sturgeons (CBA) cut 32-year old American 188cm guard Joseph Young (college: Oregon). In 12 CBA games he averaged impressive 23.5ppg, 2.8rpg, 4.3apg and 1.7spg this season.
Part of last season he spent at Shahrdari Gorgan (Superleague) in Iranian league. He also played for Al Kuwait SC (D1) in Kuwaiti league.
In 2015 he was drafted by Indiana Pacers (NBA) in second round (43rd overall). He graduated from University of Oregon and it is his tenth season in pro basketball.
Young is a very experienced player. He has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to seven different countries on three different continents (Europe, Asia and of course North America). Young has played previously professionally in Greece (Promitheas), Iran, Italy (Napoli), Kuwait, NBA G League (Indiana Mad Ants and Birmingham Squadron), China (Monkey Kings, Royal Fighters and Changsha) and NBA Summer League (LA Lakers). His team made it to the Basketball Champions League Asia Semifinals in 2024.
Among many awards he was voted to Asia-Basket.com All-Chinese CBA Honorable Mention back in 2021. He played also for University of Houston for 13 years.
