Hu's 37-point game gives him Player of the Week award

27-year old center Jinqiu Hu (211-C-1997) had an amazing evening in the last round for second-ranked Zhejiang Guangsha Lions and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 1.
He had the game-high 37 points adding nine rebounds for Guangsha L. in his team's victory, helping them to beat Shandong H. (#18, 1-1) 113-102. Guangsha Lions is placed at 2nd position in Chinese league. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Guangsha L. won both games without losing any. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. In the team's last game Hu had a remarkable 88.2% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Guangsha Lions, through which he has constantly improved. Hu has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (8th best: 32.0ppg) and averages solid 80.6% FGP and 75.0% from behind 3-point line.

Second best performed player last round was Edmond Sumner (198-G-1995) of Sichuan Blue Whales. He is American guard in his first season at Sichuan BW. In the last game Sumner recorded an impressive 46 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Bad luck as Blue Whales lost that game 114-126 to Ningbo R. (1-1). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Sumner is a newcomer at Sichuan and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 37.0ppg (#2). His other stats are also decent: 5.5rpg and 7.0apg.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Dominique Jones (193-G-1988) of Jilin Northeast Tigers (#14). Jones got into 30-points club by scoring 32 points in the last round. He went also for sixteen rebounds and fifteen assists. Despite Jones' great performance the Jilin Tigers lost 99-100 to Beijing RF (#1, 2-0). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The season just started for Jones as he played only first game. But it already looks like he can be team's leader.
