Shanxi inks Olivia Nelson-Ododa

Shanxi Flame (WCBA) signed 24-year old USA ex-international center Olivia Nelson-Ododa (196cm-2000, college: UConn) for upcoming 2024-25 season. She played last season at Connecticut Sun (WNBA). In 44 games just recently she had 3.3ppg and 2.6rpg. The last season she played at Vermilion Birds.
Two years ago she was drafted by Los Angeles Sparks (WNBA) in second round (19th overall).
The former University of Connecticut star is in her third season in pro basketball.
She was also a member of the USA international program for some years. Nelson-Ododa played for USA Senior National Team back in 2019 and previously for the Under 18 National Team in 2018.
She represented USA at the World Championship U17 in Zaragoza (Spain) eight years ago. Her team won Bronze and she had 12 points per game.
Nelson-Ododa has played also professionally in Australia (Boomers).
Among many awards she played in the final of NCAA in 2022. She was voted All-Big East Co-Defensive Player of the Year back in 2021. Nelson-Ododa played also for High School for one year.
