Ningbo Rockets (CBA) strengthened their roster with the addition of 31-year-old American 196cm swingman Ronald March (college: Philander Smith) for the 2024-25 season. He played most recently with Team Diesel (The Basketball Tournament) in the U.S. In a recent TBT game, he recorded 7 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 1 steal.
During part of last season, he spent time at Al Qadsia in the Kuwaiti league. He also played for SC Prometey Kamianske in the Lat-Est BL in the Ukrainian league. March also played 20 games in Eurocup where he recorded 13.5ppg, 3.6rpg, 2.2apg, and 1.4spg. He helped them to make it to the quarterfinals.
March is a very experienced player. Thanks to March's pro career, he managed to play on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America, and North America) in nine different countries. He has played professionally in France (Chorale de Roanne and Aix Maurienne), Kuwait, Luxembourg (Grengewald), Puerto Rico (Gigantes), Switzerland (Vevey Riviera), Ukraine, Canada (London Lightning), India (Delhi Capitals), and The Basketball Tournament (Program for Autism). March won the Latvian-Estonian Basketball League championship title in 2024.
Among many awards, he was voted Eurobasket.com All-French ProA Import Player of the Year in 2023.
It is worth mentioning that he also played at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him secure a job in professional basketball.
He graduated from Philander Smith College in 2016 and it will be his ninth season in pro basketball. March played for other colleges like Glendale Community College Maricopa, and Houston Christian University.
The scouts describe him as a versatile player who can play multiple positions on the field. He has great speed and agility, allowing him to make quick plays and cover a lot of ground. His decision-making skills are top-notch, and he has a high basketball IQ. He excels in creating mismatches and exploiting the gaps between defenders. He is a team player who communicates well with his teammates and can lead by example during high-pressure situations.
Extremely athletic and versatile guard/forward who is able to play three positions- SG, SF and even some minutes as a PG. Offensively handles and shoots the ball well, can penetrate with power and finish with lay-up or monster dunk. An exceptional offensive rebounder for his size.
