Blakeney's double-double lands him Player of the Week award

Antonio Blakeney

27-year old American guard Antonio Blakeney (193-G-1996) put on an amazing game in the last round for Nanjing Tongxi Monkey Kings and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 47.
He had a double-double of 36 points and 14 rebounds, while his team crushed Jiangsu D. (#18, 6-41) with 16-point margin 95-79. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Monkey Kings maintains the 13th position in Chinese league. Nanjing is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 22-25 record. In the team's last game Blakeney had a remarkable 77.8% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He turned to be Monkey Kings's top player in his first season with the team. Louisiana State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Blakeney is in league's top in points (2nd best: 30.6ppg) and averages solid 55.6% FGP and 40.6% from behind 3-point line.

Second best performed player last round was Dominique Jones (193-G-1988) of league's second-best Xinjiang Flying Tigers. He is American guard in his first season at Xinjiang FT. In the last game Jones recorded an impressive double-double of 21 points and 19 assists. It was enough for Flying Tigers to edge the lower-ranked Beijing D. (#11, 24-23) by 3 points 94-91. Xinjiang's second position in the standings has not changed. His team lost just nine games this season, while they won 38 matches. Jones is a newcomer at Xinjiang and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Jiayi Zhao (205-PF-1999) of Qingdao Eagles (#8). Zhao got into 30-points club by scoring 34 points in the last round. He went also for nine rebounds . He was a key player of Eagles, leading his team to a 118-113 win against the lower-ranked Shanxi L. (#12, 24-24). Qingdao E. needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 28 victories and 20 lost games. Zhao has a great season in China. After 48 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 1.6apg (4th best). He also has a FGP of 58.8% and 3PT: 40.9%.
