Alyssa Thomas claims Chinese WCBA Hoops Agents weekly honour

Experienced American Alyssa Thomas (188-F-1992) had a great game in the last round for Shanxi Flame and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 39.
The 31-year old forward had a double-double of 28 points and 18 rebounds, while her team beat Shandong (#9, 17-13) 81-72. Flame maintains the 6th position in Chinese WCBA. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Shanxi will need more victories to improve their 22-9 record. Thomas turned to be Flame's top player in her first season with the team. University of Maryland graduate has very impressive stats this year. Thomas is in league's top in points (8th best: 18.9ppg), assists (2nd best: 6.3apg) and averages solid 2.8spg and 58.7% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American center Imani McGee-Stafford (201-C-1994) of Shaanxi Red Wolves. McGee-Stafford impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 21 points and 27 rebounds. It was enough for Red Wolves to edge slightly lower-ranked Heilongjiang (#16, 6-24) by 3 points 71-68. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Shaanxi keeps 15th position. 23 lost games are too many comparing to just eight victories Red Wolves managed to get this year. McGee-Stafford is a newcomer at Shaanxi and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was Wang Jiaqi (173-PG-1999) of Zhejiang Golden Bulls (#5). Jiaqi showcased her all-around game by recording 25 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists (!!!) in the last round. She was a key player of Golden Bulls, leading her team to a 87-78 win against the lower-ranked Beijing (#10, 15-15). Zhejiang needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 23 victories and 7 lost games. Jiaqi has a great season in China. After 27 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 8.7apg (best passer). She also has 2.3spg and a FGP of 55.3%.

9. Huaqian Peng (178-G-1995) of Hebei - 21 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Huang Sijing (192-PF-1996) of Guangdong - 21 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists
