NBL Round 15: Henan defeat Shaanxi

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Shaanxi (12-4) in Xian on Wednesday night. Hosts were edged by tenth ranked Henan (6-10) 95-93. Henan moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Wuhan and Jiangsu YS. Shaanxi at the other side still keeps top position with four games lost. Henan is looking forward to face league's second-placed Anhui W. on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Shaanxi will play against Wuhan and is hoping to win this game.
Important game to mention about took place in Guangxi. Fifth ranked Guangxi (9-7) saved a 2-point victory at home edging second-best Anhui W. (11-5) 100-98 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Anhui W.. Guangxi maintains fifth place with 9-7 record. Anhui W. at the other side keeps the second position with five games lost. Guangxi will play against Hefei (#8) in the next round. Anhui W. will play against Henan (#10) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Liaoning Y. (10-6) against twelfth ranked Wuhan (6-10) on Wednesday night. Visiting Liaoning Y. was defeated by Wuhan in 128-117. Wuhan have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Henan and Jiangsu YS. Newly promoted Liaoning Y. keeps the third position with six games lost. They share it with Hunan. Wuhan will meet league's leader Shaanxi in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Liaoning Y. will play against Jiangsu YS in Yannan and hope to secure a win.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 15: Hunan beat Jiangxi on the road 114-101. Hebei destroyed Jiangsu YS on its own court 121-95. HK JinNiu unfortunately lost to Hefei in a road game 124-129.

Jiangxi - Hunan 101-114

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Hunan (10-6) beat on the road 6th ranked Jiangxi (7-9) 114-101 on Tuesday. Hunan moved-up to third place, which they share with Liaoning Y. Newly promoted Jiangxi keeps the sixth position with nine games lost. They share it with Hebei and Hefei. Hunan will meet Hebei (#6) on the road in the next round. Jiangxi will play against HK JinNiu and hope to secure a win.

Hebei - Jiangsu YS 121-95

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Hebei and 7th ranked Jiangsu YS had identical 6-9 record. This time Hebei used a home court advantage and smashed the opponent from Yannan 121-95 on Tuesday night. Hebei (7-9) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Hefei and Jiangxi. Jiangsu YS lost eighth consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with ten games lost. They share it with Henan and Wuhan. Hebei will meet bottom-ranked HK JinNiu (#12) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Jiangsu YS will play against Liaoning Y. and hope to secure a win.

Hefei - HK JinNiu 129-124

Rather predictable result when eighth ranked Hefei (7-9) won against at home bottom-ranked HK JinNiu (5-11) 129-124 on Wednesday. Hefei moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Hebei and Jiangxi. Newly promoted HK JinNiu dropped to the bottom position with 11 games lost. Hefei will meet higher ranked Guangxi (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. HK JinNiu will play against Hebei (#6) and hope to secure a win.
