NBL Round 11: Hunan lose to Guangxi

The game between third ranked Hunan (8-4) and seventh ranked Guangxi (6-6) was the most important one in the last round on Friday night. Hunan was crushed by Guangxi in Guangxi 106-131. Guangxi have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Jiangsu YS. Hunan at the other side dropped to the second position with four games lost. They share it with Anhui W. and Liaoning Y.. Guangxi is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Wuhan (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hunan will play against the league's leader Shaanxi (#1) in Xian and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Very important is a home loss of second ranked Liaoning Y. (8-4) against fourth ranked Anhui W. (8-4) on Sunday night. Host Liaoning Y. was defeated by Anhui W. in 116-99. Anhui W. have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Hunan and Liaoning Y. Anhui W. will play against Jiangsu YS (#6) in Yannan in the next round. Liaoning Y. will play against Hefei (#9) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
An interesting game for Shaanxi (10-2) which hosted in Xian second-ranked Liaoning Y. (8-4). First ranked Shaanxi had an easy win 127-103. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Shaanxi. They maintain first place with 10-2 record. Newly promoted Liaoning Y. keeps the second position with four games lost. They share it with Anhui W. and Hunan. Shaanxi will meet at home Hunan (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Liaoning Y. will play against Hefei and hope to secure a win.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 11: Jiangsu YS was beaten by Henan on the road 112-99. Anhui W. won against Hebei on its own court 118-107. Bottom-ranked Wuhan managed to outperform HK JinNiu in a road game 103-98. Hefei managed to beat Jiangxi at home 116-109. Henan was defeated by Hunan on the opponent's court 127-125. Guangxi beat HK JinNiu in a home game 121-110. Shaanxi destroyed Jiangsu YS on the road 118-86. Hebei outscored Hefei on its own court 110-83. Jiangxi managed to beat Wuhan in a road game 105-93.

Henan - Jiangsu YS 112-99

There was a surprise result when eleventh ranked Henan (4-8) beat at home higher ranked Jiangsu YS (6-6) 112-99 on Friday. Henan moved-up to tenth place, which they share with HK JinNiu. Jiangsu YS lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the fifth position with six games lost. They share it with Guangxi. Henan will meet at home HK JinNiu (#10) in the next round. Jiangsu YS will play against the league's second-placed Anhui W. (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.

Anhui W. - Hebei 118-107

Very expected game when 10th ranked Hebei (5-7) lost on the road to fourth ranked Anhui W. (8-4) 118-107 on Friday. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Anhui W.. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Hunan and Liaoning Y. Loser Hebei dropped to the seventh position with seven games lost. They share it with Hefei and Jiangxi. Hefei - Jiangxi 116-109

Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked Jiangxi (5-7) lost on the road to sixth ranked Hefei (5-7) 116-109 on Friday. Despite that victory Hefei went down to seventh position due to points difference, which they share with Hebei and Jiangxi. Jiangxi lost their third game in a row. Hefei will meet higher ranked Liaoning Y. (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Jiangxi will play against Hebei and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Shaanxi - Liaoning Y. 127-103
