NBL Round 21: Shaanxi beat Anhui W. in the most crucial game of the week

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Xian. Third ranked Shaanxi faced second-best Anhui W.. Host Shaanxi (17-3) defeated guests from Anhui (17-3) 91-73. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Anhui W.. Shaanxi dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Anhui W.'s 26. Shaanxi forced 24 Anhui W. turnovers and outrebounded them 44-32 including 33 on the defensive glass. 26 personal fouls committed by Anhui W. helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was forward Wenxue Yang (205-99) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Xin Wang (199-91) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Xiangbo Li (203-99) who recorded 10 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Guangxi. They maintain first place with 18-2 record. Henan lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with 13 games lost.
Bottom-ranked Luoyang (0-20) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 120-92 loss to sixth ranked Foshan (10-10) in Foshan on Thursday evening. Zihao Liu stepped up and scored 28 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Foshan's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was Boyang Zhao with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds. Newly promoted Foshan maintains sixth place with 10-10 record.
