NBL Round 20: Wuhan lose to Shaanxi in the game between Top 4 teams

Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The game between Top Four teams took place in Xian. Third ranked host Shaanxi (16-3) smashed one of their biggest challengers Wuhan (14-5) 121-92. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Wuhan. They outrebounded Wuhan 44-31 including 17 on the offensive glass. Shaanxi looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Xin Wang (199-91) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 29 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Yan Gao (195-93) who added 26 points and 4 steals during the contest. Forward Rongxiao Sun (202-95) responded with 26 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Shaanxi have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 16-3 record behind leader Guangxi. Wuhan at the other side keeps the fourth place with five games lost. Shaanxi are looking forward to face league's second-placed Anhui W. at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Wuhan will play against Hebei and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
NBL top team - Guangxi (17-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked Foshan (9-10) 104-82. The winners were led by forward Tianren Yin (204-89) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 28 points and 12 rebounds and Shouwei Cun supported him with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Even 26 points by guard XU Sun (196-99) did not help to save the game for Foshan. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guangxi have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 17-2 record, which they share with Anhui W. Foshan lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the sixth place with ten games lost.
Bottom-ranked Luoyang (0-19) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their 19th consecutive match to ninth ranked Anhui P. (4-15) 98-74 on Tuesday evening. The best player for the winners was Jianxiong Pan who scored 20 points and 9 rebounds. Anhui P.'s coach felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Boyang Zhao produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 17 rebounds for the guests. Anhui P. maintains ninth position with 4-15 record. Loser Luoyang still closes the standings.
The game in Henan was also worth to mention about. Second ranked Anhui W. (17-2) played at the court of 8th ranked Henan (7-12). Anhui W. defeated Henan 103-87. Dele Hei orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Anhui W. have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Guangxi. Henan lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 12 games lost. Anhui W.'s next round opponent will be Shaanxi (#3) in Xian, which may be the game of the day.

In the last game of round 20 Chongqing won against Hebei on the opponent's court 99-84.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 25 points and 6 rebounds by Siqi Wang of Chongqing.



Anhui P. - Luoyang 98-74

Bottom-ranked Luoyang (0-19) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their 19th consecutive match to ninth ranked Anhui P. (4-15) 98-74 on Tuesday evening. Anhui P. dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Luoyang's 22 and made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Luoyang 58-47 including a 47-35 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was forward Jianxiong Pan (203-96) who scored 20 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Xiaowei Xia (193-97) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. Anhui P.'s coach felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Rather expected game when 10th ranked Hebei (2-17) was defeated at home by seventh ranked Chongqing (9-11) 99-84. Chongqing outrebounded Hebei 50-31 including a 21-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. 29 personal fouls committed by Hebei helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Guard Siqi Wang (192-94) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Jianshu Zhao (190-98) contributed with 25 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Yaofeng Wang (198-99) replied with 27 points and forward Zhanfan Li (200-99) added 20 points in the effort for Hebei. Five Chongqing and four Hebei players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Chongqing maintains seventh position with 9-11 record. Hebei lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with 17 games lost. Chongqing will have a break next round. Hebei will play against Wuhan (#4) and hope to win that game.
