Meng's double-double lands him NBL Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

Wei Meng

31-year old center Wei Meng (210-C-89) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Shaanxi X. and receives a Hoops Agents NBL Player of the Week award for round 13.
He had a double-double of 20 points and 12 rebounds, while his team outclassed, the league's bottom-ranked team Luoyang (#11, 0-12) with 69-point margin 149-80. Shaanxi maintains the 3rd position in Chinese NBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Shaanxi will need more victories to improve their 9-3 record. It was one of impressive evenings for Meng as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Wei Meng averages this season 5.1ppg.

Second best performed player last round was JunQi Jiang (202-C-90) of Hunan. He is a center in his 3rd season at Hunan. In the last game Jiang recorded impressive double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds. Of course he led Hunan to another comfortable win 104-88 over slightly lower-ranked Henan (#8, 4-8) being unquestionably team leader. Hunan's 7th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 6-6 record is not bad and everything may still change. Jiang is one of the most experienced players at Hunan and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.3ppg (#6). His other stats are also decent: 8.5rpg and 5.6apg.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Xiaolong Cui (192-G-99) of Henan (#8). Cui showcased his all-around game by recording 23 points, seven rebounds and six assists in the last round. Despite Cui's great performance Henan lost 88-104 to slightly higher-ranked Hunan (#7, 6-6). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Henan not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 8 games, recording just four victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Cui could try to bring Henan's a little bit higher in the standings. Cui has individually a great season in China. After 12 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.3ppg (5th best) and assists with 8.7apg (best passer).
