Jilin Tigers welcome back Jones

Dominique Jones

Jilin Northeast Tigers (CBA) inked 31-year old American guard Dominique Jones (193-98kg-88, college: S.Florida). It is actually his comeback to Jilin Tigers as he has played here before. Jones played in the summer at Armored Athlete (The Basketball Tournament) in the U.S. The last season he played at Jilin Tigers (Chinese CBA) where in 28 games he was league's second best scorer with impressive 37.8ppg and recorded 8.3rpg, 8.9apg (top 2) and 2.0spg. A very good season in his career as he was selected to Asia-Basket.com All-Chinese CBA Honorable Mention and League Player of the Week (3 times).
In 2010 Jones was drafted by Memphis Grizzlies (NBA) in first round (25th overall). The former University of South Florida star is in his eleventh (!!!) season in pro basketball.
He is a very experienced player. Jones has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to seven different countries on three different continents (Asia, Latin America and of course North America). Jones has played previously professionally in Iran (Petrochimi and Azad), Puerto Rico (Manati), NBA (Dallas Mavericks), China (Flying Leopards, Brave Dragons, Monkey Kings and Guangxi), NBA G League (Texas Legends), D-League (Springfield A.) and The Basketball Tournament (Team DRC).
Among many awards Jones received Asia-Basket.com All-Iranian Superleague Player of the Year award and Asia-Basket.com All-Iranian Superleague Import Player of the Year award back in 2017.
