Strangely Bayi Rockets outrebounded Guandong Tigers 51-38 including 16 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Bayi Rockets helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. International power forward JunFei Ren (203-90) fired a double-double by scoring 29 points and 13 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) for the winners. Worth to mention a great performance of OJ Mayo who helped to win the game recording 31 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. At the losing side Jin Xin responded with 18 points and 8 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Flying Leopards moved-up to eighth place. Loser Pioneers still closes the standings with 11 games lost. Flying Leopards will meet Jilin Tigers (#16) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Bottom-ranked Pioneers (0-11) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 116-107 loss to twelfth ranked Monkey Kings (4-7) in Jiangsu. The winners were led by Joseph Young who had that evening a double-double by scoring 51 points (!!!), 9 rebounds, 11 assists and 5 steals. We should mention about the upset which took place in Qingdao, where 8th ranked Leopards (5-6) lost to eleventh ranked Eagles (4-7) in a road game 74-81 on Saturday. Weihan Lin fired 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Despite that victory Eagles went down to twelfth position due to points difference, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Leopards dropped to the ninth place with six games lost. Eagles will face higher ranked Royal Fighters (#5) in Beijing in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Brave Dragons (4-6) were crushed on the road by sixth ranked Beijing Ducks (8-2) 111-91 on Monday.
