There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in NBL. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Wuhan (0-1) on the court of Anhui W. on Wednesday night. Visitors were defeated by Anhui W. 103-89. The game was mostly controlled by Anhui W.. Wuhan managed to win second period 29-26. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Wuhan 47-33 including 32 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American power forward Elijah Holman (208-89, college: Detroit Mercy, agency: Pensack Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds. American-Montenegrin point guard Taylor Rochestie (185-85, college: WSU) chipped in 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Yuxi Xia (196-93) produced 32 points and 8 assists for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Anhui W. is looking forward to face Luoyang (#13) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Wuhan will play against Anhui P. (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game with biggest result difference took place in Guizhou. Local Guizhou (2-0) outscored Hebei X. (0-2) 141-120. American point guard Russ Smith (183-91, college: Louisville) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 52 points (!!!), 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Chris Otule contributed with 27 points, 12 rebounds and 5 blocks (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners. Swingman Yannan Li (195-92) replied with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 13 rebounds and 6 assists for Hebei X.The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Guizhou will play against Hunan (#7) in Changsha in the next round where they are favorite. Hebei X. will play on the road against Chongqing (#8) in Lanling to get more than just one victory in their record.

Rest of the games of round 2 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Hefei defeated Luoyang in Nanjin 115-111. Guangxi smashed Hunan at home 115-95. Winless Beijing lost to Chongqing on the opponent's court 77-92. Henan managed to outperform Shaanxi X. in a home game 118-111.
The best stats of 2nd round was 50 points (!!!) and 18 rebounds by Troy Gillenwater of Shaanxi X..



Anhui W. - Wuhan 103-89

Luoyang - Hefei 111-115

But Luoyang was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Nanjin 115-111. Luoyang was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 58-52 second half run of Hefei. American guard Anthony Tucker (193-89, college: MSU Moorhead) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds. The other American import forward Antonio Campbell (206-94, college: Ohio) contributed with 34 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Braylon Rayson (175-94, college: Cent Michigan) replied with 36 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 5 assists and forward MingYang Gao (196-88) added 28 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Luoyang. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Luoyang's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Hefei will play against Shaanxi X. (#5) in Xian in the next round. Luoyang will play at home against Anhui W. (#1) to get more than just one victory in their record.

Guangxi - Hunan 115-95

Guangxi used a home court advantage and smashed the opponent from Changsha 115-95. The game was mostly controlled by Guangxi. Hunan was better in second period 28-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 17-of-22 charity shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Guangxi outrebounded Hunan 42-31 including 27 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. American guard Dominique Jones (193-88, college: S.Florida) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists. German center Maik Zirbes (208-90, agency: BeoBasket) contributed with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 16 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. Five Guangxi players scored in double figures. American guard OJ Mayo (193-87, college: USC) replied with 32 points and 5 assists and Canadian center Liam McMorrow (218-87, college: Tenn Tech, agency: Slash Sports) added 18 points and 15 rebounds in the effort for Hunan. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Guangxi will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Chongqing - Beijing 92-77

Chongqing used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Beijing 92-77. It looked good early as Beijing took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Chongqing had a 22-19 second period charge getting the lead and Beijing was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 77-92. Chongqing forced 22 Beijing turnovers. Ukrainian power forward Igor Zaytsev (210-89) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 18 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Zhoushun Xu (189-94) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Four Chongqing players scored in double figures. American center Michael Holyfield (211-92, college: SHSU) replied with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 17 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Marquis Weddle (185-88, college: W.Virg.Wesl.) added 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Beijing. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Chongqing will play against Hebei X. (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Beijing will play against Henan to get more than just one victory in their record.
