Lithuanian Donatas Motiejunas (213-F/C-90) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Shandong GS and that's him to receive a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 43.
The 28-year old power forward had a double-double of 43 points and seventeen rebounds, while his team outclassed Jiangsu D. (#12, 20-22) with 39-point margin 122-83. Shandong GS maintains the 8th position in Chinese CBA. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Shandong GS will need more victories to improve their 24-19 record. In the team's last game Motiejunas had a remarkable 65.5% from 2-point range. It's his second year at Shandong GS and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Donatas Motiejunas averages this season 27.0ppg, 14.2rpg and 4.1apg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 26-year old American Shabazz Muhammad (198-SF-92) of Shanxi Z.. Muhammad impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 46 points and 11 rebounds. Of course Shanxi Z. cruised to a 127-115 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Sichuan BW (#19, 9-32). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Shanxi Z. keeps 14th position. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 16-27 record. Muhammad is a newcomer at Shanxi Z. and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Jason Thompson (211-F/C-86) of Sichuan BW (#19). Thompson got into 30-points club by scoring 38 points in the last round. He went also for twenty one rebounds and five assists. Despite Thompson's great performance Sichuan BW lost 115-127 to the higher-ranked Shanxi Z. (#14, 16-27). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Sichuan BW can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 9-32 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Thompson he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Thompson has a very solid season. In 40 games in China he scored 22.5ppg. He also has 14.4rpg and FGP: 61.6%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Aaron Jackson (190-G-86) of Beijing Ducks - 41 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists
5. Jianlian Yi (212-PF-87) of Guangdong ST - 36 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Dakari Johnson (213-C/F-95) of Qingdao E. - 34 points and 18 rebounds
7. Zhelin Wang (214-PF-94) of Fujian S. - 30 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists
8. Lorenzo Brown (196-G-90) of Guangzhou LL - 28 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists
9. Joseph Young (188-G-92) of Nanjing TX MK - 39 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists
10. Darius Adams (188-PG-89) of Xinjiang FT - 40 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Thompson's double-double lands him Player of the Week award - 4 days ago
JASON THOMPSON 32-year old power forward Jason Thompson (211-F/C-86) put on an amazing game in the last round for Sichuan BW and receives a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 47. He had a double-double of 35 points and 27 rebounds, while his team beat Zhejiang Ch. (#12, 23-23) 119-114. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Sichuan BW is placed at 18th position in Chinese league.
