Ty Lawson
TY LAWSON

Shandong Golden Stars (CBA) added to their roster 31-year old American point guard Ty Lawson (180-88kg-87, college: N.Carolina). It is actually his comeback to Golden Stars as he has played here before. Lawson already started the season at Washington Wizards in the NBA. The last season he played at Golden Stars where in 46 CBA games he recorded very impressive stats: 25.5ppg, 4.6rpg, 6.5apg and 2.2spg (in top 5). Lawson helped them to make it to the semifinals. A very spectacular season in his career as he was voted to Asia-Basket.com All-Chinese CBA Honorable Mention.
In 2009 he was drafted by Minnesota Timberwolves (NBA) in first round (18th overall). Lawson attended University of North Carolina and it is his tenth season in pro basketball.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he won NBA Northwest Division championship title in 2010. Lawson was also voted ACC Player of the Year, USBasket.com All-NCAA D1 2nd Team and CBSSports.com NCAA All-America 1st Team back in 2009 at his college time.
Lawson has played previously professionally in Lithuania (Zalgiris) and NBA (Denver Nuggets, Houston Rockets, Sacramento Kings and Indiana Pacers).
On Lawson: A tiny PG with great personality. He doesn t fear anyone on the court, has leadership, scoring skills and great court vision. Showed flashes of true starship in his first season as a pro, even because no one was expecting this kind of effectiveness from him. Also, has quick hands and can be a very good defender, even on taller opponents.
