There was no lack of excitement in the last round games. The round ended with defeat of the leader, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The most surprising game was the first loss of Guandong Tigers (18-1) in Changchun on Thursday night. Visitors were defeated by eleventh ranked Jilin Tigers (9-9) 105-96. It ended at the same time the 16-game winning streak of Guandong Tigers. Jilin Tigers had a 20-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Dominique Jones (193-88, college: S.Florida) who helped to win the game recording 40 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 5 assists and Polish-Swedish power forward Maciej Lampe (211-85) who added 20 points and 15 rebounds during the contest. Jilin Tigers' coach Han Wang used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international Jianlian Yi (212-87) responded with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds. Jilin Tigers maintains eleventh position with 9-9 record. Guandong Tigers at the other side still keep top place with one game lost. Jilin Tigers are looking forward to face higher ranked Flying Leopards (#3) in Yingkou in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Guandong Tigers will play at home against the league's second-placed Zhejiang Guangsha Lions and will have a slim chance for a victory.
The game between Top Four teams took place in Yingkou. Third ranked host Flying Leopards (15-4) defeated second-ranked Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (15-3) 100-95. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Zhejiang Guangsha Lions. The winners were led by the former international Ailun Guo (192-93) who scored that evening 32 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and Brandon Bass supported him with 23 points and 10 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). Flying Leopards' coach Shiqiang Guo allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 16 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists and 5 steals by American point guard Courtney Fortson (180-88, college: Arkansas) did not help to save the game for Zhejiang Guangsha Lions. Flying Leopards have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains third position with 15-4 record having just three points less than leader Guangdong ST, which they share with Beijing Ducks. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions at the other side keep the second place with three games lost. Flying Leopards will play against Jilin Tigers (#11) in Changchun in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions will play on the road against the league's leader Guandong Tigers (#1) in Dongguan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
A very close game took place in Taiyuan between Brave Dragons and Blue Whales. Fifteenth ranked Brave Dragons (6-13) got a very close home victory over 19th ranked Blue Whales (3-16). Brave Dragons managed to escape with a 3-point win 107-104 on Friday evening. The best player for the winners was Shabazz Muhammad who had a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 19 rebounds and 8 assists. Brave Dragons' coach Fei Wang used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Jamaal Franklin produced a double-double by scoring 42 points (!!!), 8 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals for the guests. Brave Dragons moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Nanjing TX MK. Blue Whales lost eleventh consecutive game. They keep the nineteenth position with 16 games lost. They share it with Tianjin GL. Brave Dragons will meet higher ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (#7) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Blue Whales will play against Fly Dragons (#17) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An interesting game took place in Urumqi where higher ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (12-7) was upset on its own court by seventeenth ranked Fly Dragons (5-14) 119-107. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Xinjiang Flying Tige. Pierre Jackson orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 43 points (!!!), 5 rebounds, 12 assists and 4 steals (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Fly Dragons moved-up to sixteenth place, which they share with Qingdao E. Xinjiang Flying Tige at the other side dropped to the seventh position with seven games lost. Fly Dragons' next round opponent will be Blue Whales (#19) in Sichuan.
An interesting game took place in Jinan where 10th ranked Golden Stars (10-9) were upset on its own court by thirteenth ranked Jiangsu Dragons (8-11) 110-87 on Thursday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Golden Stars. Worth to mention a great performance of Miroslav Raduljica who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 29 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Jiangsu Dragons moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Zhejiang Ch. Loser Golden Stars dropped to the ninth position with nine games lost. Jiangsu Dragons will face Monkey Kings (#14) in Jiangsu in the next round.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 20: Shanghai S. won against Nanjing TX MK on the opponent's court 111-103. Shenzhen L. managed to outperform Guangzhou LL in a home game 104-98. Tianjin GL recorded a loss to Beijing Ducks on the road 112-101. Fujian S. crushed Qingdao E. on its own court 120-98. Bayi R. beat Zhejiang Ch. in Ningbo 104-91.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 33 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds by Justin Hamilton of Beijing Ducks.



Liaoning FL - Guangsha L. 100-95

The game between Top Four teams took place in Yingkou. Third ranked host Flying Leopards (15-4) defeated second-ranked Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (15-3) 100-95. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Zhejiang Guangsha Lions. Flying Leopards made 20-of-22 charity shots (90.9 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Zhejiang Guangsha Lions 51-35 including a 38-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Sharks made 7 blocks. Monkey Kings were plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Jimmer Fredette (188-89, college: BYU) who helped to win the game recording 48 points (!!!), 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals and Argentinian-Spanish power forward Luis Scola (206-80) who added 17 points and 7 rebounds during the contest.
