The most exciting game of round 19 in the CBA took place in Urumqi. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 5th ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (12-6) to fourth ranked Beijing Ducks (14-4) 113-111 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Xinjiang Flying Tige. Beijing Ducks forced 19 Xinjiang Flying Tige turnovers. Strangely Xinjiang Flying Tige outrebounded Beijing Ducks 49-31 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. 27 personal fouls committed by Xinjiang Flying Tige helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Aaron Jackson (190-86, college: Duquesne) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 42 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Croatian-American center Justin Hamilton (213-90, college: LSU) contributed with 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. The former international center Ziming Fan (211-98) answered with 30 points and 9 rebounds for Xinjiang Flying Tige. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Beijing Ducks have an impressive series of thirteen victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Liaoning FL. Xinjiang Flying Tige at the other side keeps the fifth position with six games lost. They share it with Shanghai S. and Shenzhen L.. Beijing Ducks is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Gold Lions (#20) in Tianjin in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Xinjiang Flying Tige will play on the road against Fly Dragons (#17) in Beijing and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
Bottom-ranked Gold Lions managed to get a third victory, breaking the series of ten consecutive losses. This time they won against sixteenth-ranked Fly Dragons in Beijing 130-125. It was a great evening for American-Montenegrin point guard Taylor Rochestie (185-85, college: Washington St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 53 points (!!!) and 11 assists. Cole Aldrich helped adding 18 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). At the losing side American point guard Pierre Jackson (180-91, college: Baylor) responded with 51 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Fly Dragons' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Gold Lions (3-15) moved-up to eighteenth place, which they share with Sichuan BW and Bayi R. Fly Dragons lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the seventeenth position with 14 games lost. Gold Lions will play against higher ranked Beijing Ducks (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Fly Dragons will play against Xinjiang Flying Tige (#7) and hope to get back on the winning track.
CBA top team - Guandong Tigers (18-0) had no problems winning another game on Tuesday. This time they beat fourteenth ranked Monkey Kings (6-12) in Dongguan 124-106. It was a quality performance for Sonny Weems who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists. Isaiah Austin came up with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 13 rebounds for Monkey Kings in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the sixteenth consecutive win for Guandong Tigers. They maintain first place with 18-0 record. Loser Monkey Kings keep the fourteenth position with 12 games lost. Guandong Tigers will meet at home Jilin Tigers (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Monkey Kings will play against Sharks in Shanghai and hope to secure a win.
The game in Jinan supposed to be also worth to mention about. Second ranked Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (15-2) played at the court of 8th ranked Golden Stars (10-8). Zhejiang Guangsha Lions smashed Golden Stars 116-82. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Golden Stars. Courtney Fortson fired a double-double by scoring 29 points, 8 rebounds and 14 assists for the winners. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions maintains second place with 15-2 record having four points less than leader Guangdong ST. Golden Stars at the other side keep the eighth position with eight games lost. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions' next round opponent will be Flying Leopards (#3) in Yingkou, which may be the game of the day. Golden Stars will play on the road against Jiangsu Dragons (#13) in Nanjing and hope to win that game.

Other games in round 19 were not that significant. Qingdao E. were beaten by Guangzhou LL on the road 107-97. Fujian S. won against Sichuan BW on its own court 107-97. Shenzhen L. was outscored by Liaoning FL in Yingkou 120-99. Zhejiang Ch. was rolled over Shanghai S. at home 67-90. Shanxi Z. defeated Bayi R. on the opponent's court 96-86. Jiangsu D. was beaten by Jilin NE T. in a home game 94-108.



Guangzhou LL - Qingdao E. 107-97

No shocking result in a game when tenth ranked Long-Lions (10-8) beat 15th ranked Eagles (5-13) in Guangzhou 107-97. They outrebounded Eagles 56-44 including 18 on the offensive glass. American point guard Kyle Fogg (190-90, college: Arizona) fired a triple-double by scoring 42 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 11 assists for the winners. Forward Yongpeng Zhang (208-90) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 15 rebounds. Long-Lions' coach Juan Antonio Orenga allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American point guard Jonathan Gibson (188-87, college: N.Mexico St.) produced a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import power forward Dakari Johnson (213-95, college: Kentucky) added 17 points and 17 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Long-Lions moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Shandong GS and Fujian S. Eagles at the other side keep the fifteenth position with 13 games lost. Long-Lions' next round opponent will be higher ranked Leopards (#6) in Shenzhen and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
