Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Hangzhou: Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (#8) and Golden Bulls (#5). Golden Bulls were defeated at home 99-104 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Golden Bulls. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Golden Bulls' 42. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. 27 personal fouls committed by Golden Bulls helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. International center Jinqiu Hu (208-97) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 11 rebounds (on 13-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winners and American point guard Courtney Fortson (180-88, college: Arkansas) chipped in 19 points, 6 rebounds, 13 assists and 6 steals. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions' coach ChunJiang Li used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American guard Marcus Denmon (191-90, college: Missouri, agency: BeoBasket) responded with a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 7 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (13-2) moved-up to second place. Golden Bulls at the other side dropped to the tenth position with eight games lost. They share it with Guangzhou LL. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions are looking forward to face Sharks (#5) in Shanghai in the next round. Golden Bulls will play at home against the league's leader Guandong Tigers (#1) and are hoping to win this game.
The game between Top Four teams took place in Shanghai. 3rd placed host Sharks (11-5) were smashed by leader Guandong Tigers (16-0) 138-101. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Sharks. American swingman Sonny Weems (198-86, college: Arkansas) nailed a double-double by scoring 20 points, 7 rebounds and 12 assists for the winning side and Malcolm Delaney accounted for 29 points and 4 assists. Argentinian-Spanish power forward Luis Scola (206-80) came up with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds for Sharks in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Undefeated Guandong Tigers have an impressive series of fifteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with 16-0 record. Sharks at the other side dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. They share it with Xinjiang FT and Shenzhen L.. Guandong Tigers will play against Golden Bulls (#11) in Hangzhou in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sharks will play at home against the league's second-placed Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (#2) and hope to get back on the winning track.

Fly Dragons moved-up to sixteenth place, which they share with Shanxi Z. Loser Golden Stars dropped to the eighth position with seven games lost. They share it with Fujian S.. Fly Dragons' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Beijing to the arena Beijing Ducks.
An interesting game took place in Changchun where higher ranked Jilin Tigers (6-9) were upset on its own court by sixteenth ranked Eagles (5-11) 117-110. Dakari Johnson orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 22 rebounds and 6 assists (on 12-of-13 shooting from the field). Eagles' coach Bin Fan allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Eagles moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Nanjing TX MK. Jilin Tigers lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the thirteenth position with nine games lost. Eagles' next round opponent will be higher ranked Leopards (#6) in Shenzhen and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 17: Fujian S. won against Tianjin GL on the opponent's court 114-109. Jiangsu D. managed to outperform Sichuan BW in a home game 112-107. Bayi R. recorded a loss to Shenzhen L. on the road 114-97. Shanxi Z. was crushed by Xinjiang FT on its own court 80-107. Beijing Ducks beat Guangzhou LL in a road game 112-98. Nanjing TX MK lost to defending champion Liaoning FL at home 99-134.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 33 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds by Shabazz Muhammad of Shanxi Z..



Shanghai S. - Guangdong ST 101-138

The game between Top Four teams took place in Shanghai. 3rd placed host Sharks (11-5) were smashed by leader Guandong Tigers (16-0) 138-101. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Sharks. Guandong Tigers dominated down low during the game scoring 88 of its points in the paint compared to Sharks' 64. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Sharks' players. Sharks were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American swingman Sonny Weems (198-86, college: Arkansas) nailed a double-double by scoring 20 points, 7 rebounds and 12 assists for the winning side and his fellow American import guard Malcolm Delaney (191-89, college: Virginia Tech) accounted for 29 points and 4 assists. Five Guandong Tigers players scored in double figures. A very close game took place in Jinan between Fly Dragons and Golden Stars. Nineteenth ranked Fly Dragons (4-12) got a very close victory on the road over higher ranked Golden Stars (9-7). The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Hangzhou: Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (#8) and Golden Bulls (#5). The former international Ailun Guo (192-93) contributed with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 assists for the winners. Five Flying Leopards players scored in double figures.
