Joseph Young

American Joseph Young (188-G-92) had a very impressive game in the last round for Nanjing TX MK and that's him to receive a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 15.
The 26-year old guard had the game-high 54 points adding four rebounds and five assists for Nanjing TX MK in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Zhejiang Ch. (#2, 11-7) 118-116. Nanjing TX MK is placed at 14th position in Chinese CBA. Nanjing TX MK is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 5-10 record. In the team's last game Young had a remarkable seven three-pointers out of 10 attempts. He turned to be Nanjing TX MK's top player in his first season with the team. University of Oregon graduate has very impressive stats this year. Young is in league's top in points (6th best: 34.9ppg) and averages solid 54.4% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 24-year old international power forward Zhelin Wang (214-PF-94) of Fujian S.. Wang impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 41 points and 17 rebounds. Of course he led Fujian S. to another comfortable win 131-118 over the lower-ranked Shanxi Z. (#16, 4-11) being unquestionably team leader. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. But Fujian S. managed to improve slightly their position in standings taking 11th place. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 7-7 record is not bad and everything may still change. Wang is one of the most experienced players at Fujian S. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was American Jamaal Franklin (196-SG-91, agency: Slash Sports) of Sichuan BW (#18). Franklin got into 30-points club by scoring 38 points in the last round. He went also for thirteen rebounds and eleven assists. Despite Franklin's great performance Sichuan BW lost 104-121 to the league's current leader Guangdong ST (#1, 15-0). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Sichuan BW can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 3-11 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Franklin he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Franklin has individually a great season in China. After 14 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 34.8ppg (7th best) and assists with 7.6apg (6th best). He also has 3.0spg, 1.9bpg and FGP: 63.0%.

2019-20 CBA Changes - 15 hours ago
The 2019-20 CBA season is expected to have some significant rule changes that will directly affect the level of players signing in what has been one of the top leagues, as far as money is concerned, at least. The CBA has ratified a standard contract that essentially makes EVERY contract non-guaranteed at least for the first two months, the silver lining for players/agents is that the CBA season traditionally starts so late, that 90% of the non guaranteed portion will be satisfied before...   [read more]
