There were just 10 rounds played in Regular Season of CBA and we can clearly see which teams will fight for top positions and which will try to avoid bottom places. The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The most exciting game of round 10 in the CBA took place in Shanghai. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of much higher ranked Sharks (7-3) to seventeenth ranked Fly Dragons (3-7) 137-136 on Sunday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. Fly Dragons shot the lights out from three sinking 25 long-distance shots on high 51.0 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Pierre Jackson (180-91, college: Baylor) who helped to win the game recording 63 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 8 assists. The other American import forward Shavlik Randolph (208-83, college: Duke) contributed with 25 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Jimmer Fredette (188-89, college: BYU) replied with 75 points (!!!), 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals for Sharks. Sharks' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Fly Dragons moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Sichuan BW and Bayi R. Sharks at the other side keep the second position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Fly Dragons is looking forward to face higher ranked Sturgeons (#10) in Jinjiang in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Sharks will play on the road against Golden Stars (#9) in Jinan and are hoping to win this game.
CBA top team - Guandong Tigers (10-0) added another victory to their record. This time they beat fifteenth ranked Bayi Rockets (3-7) in Dongguan 104-96. American swingman Sonny Weems (198-86, college: Arkansas) had a double-double by scoring 29 points, 8 rebounds and 12 assists to lead the charge for the winners and JunFei Ren chipped in 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side international center Hao Fu (206-97) responded with 26 points and 7 rebounds. Bayi Rockets' coach let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Undefeated Guandong Tigers have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 10-0 record. Bayi Rockets at the other side keep the fifteenth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Sichuan BW and Beijing Dragons. Guandong Tigers will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Bayi Rockets will play at home against Long-Lions (#11) and hope to get back on the winning track.
A very close game took place in Changchun between Xinjiang Flying Tige and Jilin Tigers. Sixth ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (7-3) got a very close victory on the road over 13th ranked Jilin Tigers (4-6). Xinjiang Flying Tige managed to escape with a 2-point win 117-115 on Sunday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Jilin Tigers. Darius Adams notched a double-double by scoring 44 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 16 assists to lead the effort. Even a double-double of 32 points and 18 rebounds by Maciej Lampe did not help to save the game for Jilin Tigers. Jilin Tigers' coach gave the chance to play for ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Xinjiang Flying Tige have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Jilin Tigers dropped to the twelfth position with six games lost. They share it with Jiangsu D. and Shanxi Z.. Xinjiang Flying Tige will meet at home Flying Leopards (#5) in the next round. Jilin Tigers will play against Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (#7) and hope to secure a win.
A very interesting game took place in Taiyuan. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 12th ranked Jiangsu Dragons (4-6) to fourteenth ranked Brave Dragons (4-6) 106-103 in the fight for the twelfth place. Josh Adams fired 30 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Brave Dragons' coach Fei Wang allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Brave Dragons moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Jiangsu D. and Jilin NE T. Brave Dragons will have a break next round.
Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Golden Bulls (7-6) and Beijing Ducks (6-4), which took place in Hangzhou. Higher ranked Golden Bulls lost at home to ninth ranked Beijing Ducks 109-114 on Sunday. It was a very good performance for Aaron Jackson who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 30 points, 8 rebounds and 12 assists. Beijing Ducks' coach Giannis Christopoulos used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Beijing Ducks have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Shandong GS. Golden Bulls lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. Beijing Ducks will face Monkey Kings (#18) in Jiangsu in the next round and are hoping to win another game.

Other games in round 10 were not that significant. Sichuan BW were beaten by Liaoning FL on the road 111-100. Guangsha L. won against Qingdao E. on its own court 115-109. Guangzhou LL unfortunately lost to Fujian S. in Jinjiang 104-117. Tianjin GL was rolled over Shenzhen L. at home 130-152. Shandong GS crushed Nanjing TX MK on the opponent's court 116-93.



Guangdong ST - Bayi R. 104-96

CBA top team - Guandong Tigers (10-0) added another victory to their record. This time they beat fifteenth ranked Bayi Rockets (3-7) in Dongguan 104-96. Guandong Tigers players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Bayi Rockets were plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. American swingman Sonny Weems (198-86, college: Arkansas) had a double-double by scoring 29 points, 8 rebounds and 12 assists to lead the charge for the winners and international power forward JunFei Ren (203-90) chipped in 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds during the contest. No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Flying Leopards (7-3) beat 16th ranked Blue Whales (3-7) in Yingkou 111-100 on Sunday. Flying Leopards made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Blue Whales turnovers. American players dominated the game. Quite impressive performance for Lester Hudson (190-84, college: Tenn-Martin) who helped to win the game recording 38 points (!!!), 8 assists and 7 steals. Forward Brandon Bass (203-85, college: LSU, agency: IPZ) contributed with 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Jamaal Franklin (196-91, college: San Diego St., agency: Slash Sports) replied with a double-double by scoring 44 points (!!!), 11 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals (made all of his twelve free throws !!!) and power forward Jason Thompson (211-86, college: Rider) added 15 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Blue Whales. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Blue Whales lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifteenth position with seven games lost. Flying Leopards will face Xinjiang Flying Tige (#3) in Urumqi in the next round, which may be the game of the day.

However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. There was a surprise result when thirteenth ranked Sturgeons (5-5) won against higher ranked Long-Lions (5-5) in Jinjiang 117-104 on Saturday. Sturgeons made 32-of-40 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Long-Lions were plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for Canadian Andrew Nicholson (206-89, college: St.Bonaventure) who helped to win the game recording 37 points (!!!) (on 15-of-19 shooting from the field). American-Ukrainian point guard Eugene Jeter (180-83, college: Portland) contributed with 23 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists (made all of his ten free throws !!!) for the winners. American point guard Kyle Fogg (190-90, college: Arizona) replied with 41 points (!!!), 6 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals (made all of his seventeen free throws !!!) and his fellow American import power forward Marreese Speights (208-87, college: Florida) added 13 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Long-Lions. Five Sturgeons and four Long-Lions players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sturgeons moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Guangzhou LL. Long-Lions lost fourth consecutive game. Sturgeons will face Fly Dragons (#17) in Beijing in the next round and are hoping to win another game.

Not a big story in a game when 17th ranked Gold Lions (2-8) were outscored by sixth ranked Leopards (7-3) in Tianjin 152-130 on Saturday. Leopards shot 60.9 percent from the field and made 20-of-22 free shots (90.9 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 22 long-distance shots on high 57.9 percentage. Leopards looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Quite impressive performance for American forward Jared Sullinger (206-92, college: Ohio St.) who helped to win the game recording a triple-double by scoring 26 points, 17 rebounds and 10 assists. The other American import point guard Kenny Boynton (188-91, college: Florida, agency: Higher Vision Sports) contributed with 38 points (!!!) and 6 assists (made all of his seven free throws) for the winners. The most exciting game of round 10 in the CBA took place in Shanghai. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of much higher ranked Sharks (7-3) to seventeenth ranked Fly Dragons (3-7) 137-136 on Sunday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. Fly Dragons shot the lights out from three sinking 25 long-distance shots on high 51.0 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Pierre Jackson (180-91, college: Baylor) who helped to win the game recording 63 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 8 assists. The other American import forward Shavlik Randolph (208-83, college: Duke) contributed with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Four Fly Dragons players scored in double figures. American point guard Jimmer Fredette (188-89, college: BYU) replied with 75 points (!!!), 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals and Argentinian-Spanish power forward Luis Scola (206-80) added 27 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Sharks. Sharks' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Fly Dragons moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Sichuan BW and Bayi R. Sharks at the other side keep the second position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Fly Dragons is looking forward to face higher ranked Sturgeons (#10) in Jinjiang in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Sharks will play on the road against Golden Stars (#9) in Jinan and are hoping to win this game.

Golden Stars made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Quite impressive performance for Lithuanian power forward Donatas Motiejunas (213-90) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points, 21 rebounds and 5 assists. American guard Andrew Goudelock (190-88, college: Charleston) contributed with 24 points for the winners. Five Golden Stars players scored in double figures. American guard Joseph Young (188-92, college: Oregon) replied with 45 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!) and his fellow American import center Adreian Payne (208-91, college: Michigan St.) added 7 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Monkey Kings.
