There were just 7 rounds played in Regular Season of CBA and we can clearly see which teams will fight for top positions and which will try to avoid bottom places. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The most exciting game of round 7 in the CBA took place in Urumqi. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 6th ranked Xinjiang Flying Tigers (4-3) to leader Guandong Tigers (7-0) 129-127 on Sunday evening. Guandong Tigers made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Xinjiang Flying Tige turnovers. Guandong Tigers looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. 27 personal fouls committed by Xinjiang Flying Tige helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of international forward Rui Zhao (193-96) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!), 5 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals. American guard Malcolm Delaney (191-89, college: Virginia Tech) contributed with 21 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American-Bulgarian point guard Darius Adams (188-89, college: Indianapolis, agency: IPZ) answered with a triple-double by scoring 61 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 11 assists for Xinjiang Flying Tige. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Undefeated Guandong Tigers have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader. Xinjiang Flying Tige at the other side dropped to the seventh place with three games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Guandong Tigers are looking forward to face Sturgeons (#7) in Jinjiang in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Xinjiang Flying Tige will play at home against Golden Stars and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
Very important is a home loss of third ranked Long-Lions (5-2) against fourteenth ranked Jiangsu Dragons (3-4) on Sunday night. Host Long-Lions were defeated by Jiangsu Dragons in Guangzhou 112-102. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Long-Lions. It was a great evening for Serbian center Miroslav Raduljica (213-88) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Jerome Dyson helped adding 20 points and 5 rebounds. Jiangsu Dragons' coach Mehmed Becirovic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side American point guard Kyle Fogg (190-90, college: Arizona) responded with 32 points and 6 assists. Jiangsu Dragons moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Beijing Ducks and Sichuan BW. Long-Lions at the other side dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. They share it with Liaoning FL. Jiangsu Dragons will play against Gold Lions (#17) in Tianjin in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Long-Lions will play on the road against Fly Dragons (#18) in Beijing and hope to get back on the winning track.
Bottom-ranked Gold Lions managed to get a second victory, breaking the series of two consecutive losses on Saturday night. This time they won against nineteenth-ranked Eagles in Qingdao 101-93. It was an exceptional evening for DeShuai Shi who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists. Jonathan Gibson came up with 37 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 5 assists for Eagles in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gold Lions (2-5) moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Eagles lost their sixth game in a row. They dropped to the bottom position with six games lost. They share it with Nanjing TX MK and Beijing Dragons. Gold Lions will meet at home higher ranked Jiangsu Dragons (#12) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Eagles will play against Flying Leopards (#5) in Yingkou and hope to win that game.
The game between 18th ranked Fly Dragons (1-6) and leader Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (4-0) in Beijing ended with biggest points difference. Guests from Hangzhou outscored Fly Dragons 132-94. Ioannis Bourousis fired a triple-double by scoring 32 points, 18 rebounds and 11 assists for the winners. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Zhejiang Guangsha Lions. They moved-up to sixth place. Fly Dragons at the other side keep the eighteenth position with six games lost. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions' next round opponent will be Bayi Rockets (#15) in Ningbo and are hoping to win another game. Fly Dragons will play at home against Long-Lions and hope to win that game.

Other games in round 7 were not that significant. Sichuan BW were beaten by Shandong GS on the road 103-97. Zhejiang Ch. won against Fujian S. on its own court 122-114. Bayi R. was outscored by Liaoning FL in Yingkou 90-59. Shenzhen L. managed to beat Jilin NE T. at home 122-112. Shanxi Z. was defeated by Shanghai S. on the opponent's court 101-88. Nanjing TX MK was beaten by Beijing Ducks in a home game 102-114.



Shandong GS - Sichuan BW 103-97

Everything could happen in Jinan at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked Golden Stars and 9th ranked Blue Whales had identical 3-3 record. This time Golden Stars used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Sichuan 103-97. Strangely Blue Whales outrebounded Golden Stars 49-30 including a 35-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three nailing 17 long-distance shots on high 53.1 percentage. Golden Stars players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Blue Whales helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Lithuanian power forward Donatas Motiejunas (213-90) fired a double-double by scoring 25 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. American guard Andrew Goudelock (190-88, college: Charleston) chipped in 25 points and 6 assists. Four Golden Stars players scored in double figures. Very important is a home loss of third ranked Long-Lions (5-2) against fourteenth ranked Jiangsu Dragons (3-4) on Sunday night. Host Long-Lions were defeated by Jiangsu Dragons in Guangzhou 112-102. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Long-Lions. They outrebounded Long-Lions 48-30 including 33 on the defensive glass. Jiangsu Dragons players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. Long-Lions were plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for Serbian center Miroslav Raduljica (213-88) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. American Jerome Dyson (191-87, college: Connecticut) helped adding 20 points and 5 rebounds. Jiangsu Dragons' coach Mehmed Becirovic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side American point guard Kyle Fogg (190-90, college: Arizona) responded with 32 points and 6 assists and the other American import power forward Marreese Speights (208-87, college: Florida) scored 31 points and 6 rebounds. Five Jiangsu Dragons and four Long-Lions players scored in double figures. Jiangsu Dragons moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Beijing Ducks and Sichuan BW. Long-Lions at the other side dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. They share it with Liaoning FL. Jiangsu Dragons will play against Gold Lions (#17) in Tianjin in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
