JAMAAL FRANKLIN

American Shooting guard Jamaal Franklin (196-SG-91, agency: Slash Sports) had a very impressive game in the last round for Sichuan BW, receiving a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 5.
The 27-year old player had a double-double of 47 points and 10 rebounds, while his team beat Shenzhen L. (#7, 3-2) 121-115. Sichuan BW is placed at 10th position in Chinese CBA. Sichuan BW is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 3-3 record. In the team's last game Franklin had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range and got six three-pointers out of 14 attempts. It's his second year at Sichuan BW and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Former San Diego State University star has very solid stats this year. Franklin is in league's top in points (3rd best: 37.7ppg), assists (5th best: 7.7apg) and averages impressive 1.7bpg,3.5spg and 62.9% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 26-year old American Shabazz Muhammad (198-SF-92) of Shanxi Z.. Muhammad had a very good evening with a double-double of 46 points and 17 rebounds. Of course Shanxi Z. cruised to a 120-109 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Qingdao E. (#19, 1-5). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. But Shanxi Z. managed to improve slightly their position in standings taking 14th place. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 2-3 record. Muhammad is a newcomer at Shanxi Z., but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Pierre Jackson (180-PG-91) of Beijing Dragons (#18). Jackson got into 30-points club by scoring 44 points in the last round. He went also for five rebounds and fourteen assists. Despite Jackson's great performance Beijing Dragons lost 122-139 to the higher-ranked Liaoning FL (#6, 4-2). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Beijing Dragons can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 1-5 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Jackson he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Jackson has individually a great season in China. After only 6 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 46.7ppg (best scorer) and assists with 8.5apg (3rd best). He also has FGP: 66.7% and 3PT: 50.0%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Taylor Rochestie (185-PG-85) of Tianjin GL - 36 points, 5 rebounds and 15 assists
5. Jared Sullinger (206-F-92) of Shenzhen L. - 38 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists
6. Sonny Weems (198-G/F-86) of Guangdong ST - 32 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists
7. Jimmer Fredette (188-PG-89) of Shanghai S. - 39 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Marcus Denmon (191-G-90) of Zhejiang Ch. - 34 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists
