The Regular Season in CBA just started. The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with change at the leadership position and favorites losing the games. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

First defeat of league's leader Bayi Rockets (0-1) against Sharks (1-0) 87-83 was the most important game of the last round. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Sharks made 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Jimmer Fredette (188-89, college: BYU) who helped to win the game recording 38 points (!!!), 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. The former international power forward Dong Hanlin (208-91) contributed with 10 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. The former international center ZhongHao Xu (212-90) answered with 9 points, 17 rebounds and 6 assists for Bayi Rockets. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Bayi Rockets will play next round against Sturgeons trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Sharks will try to continue on its current victory against Golden Bulls in Hangzhou.
Guandong Tigers edged Beijing Ducks in Dongguan 87-84. American guard Malcolm Delaney (191-89, college: Virginia Tech) stepped up and scored 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and Sonny Weems chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side American guard Aaron Jackson (190-86, college: Duquesne) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 5 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Beijing Ducks will play next round against Leopards trying to get back on the winning streak. Guandong Tigers will try to continue on its current victory against Fly Dragons at Beijing.

Fly Dragons will play against Guandong Tigers (#1) and hope to win that game.

Another upset was a game between Jiangsu Dragons (0-1) and Xinjiang Flying Tige (1-0), which took place in Nanjing. Jiangsu Dragons lost at home to Xinjiang Flying Tige 93-101 on Sunday. It was a very good performance for Darius Adams who helped to win the game recording 29 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals (made all of his seven free throws). Xinjiang Flying Tige will face Monkey Kings (#17) in Jiangsu in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Jiangsu Dragons will play at home against Eagles (#5) and hope to win that game.

Other games in round 1 were not that significant. Winless Nanjing TX MK lost to undefeated Qingdao E. on the road 91-118. Guangsha L. won against Fujian S. on its own court 119-105. Jilin NE T. outscored Tianjin GL in Changchun 108-89. Winless Sichuan BW lost to undefeated Shanxi Z. at home 91-97. Liaoning FL crushed Shandong GS on the opponent's court 113-92.



Beijing Dragons - Zhejiang Ch. 107-110

Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Long-Lions (0-1) and Leopards (1-0), which took place in Guangzhou. Long-Lions lost at home to Leopards 107-123. They made 21-of-22 charity shots (95.5 percent) during the game. American players dominated also this game. Point guard Kenny Boynton (188-91, college: Florida, agency: Higher Vision Sports) fired 42 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds for the winners. Forward Jared Sullinger (206-92, college: Ohio St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Leopards players scored in double figures.
